Don’t Be Surprised… When Life Starts to get Good… you deserve That!

On 2024’s Valentines Day … my hope soared … my three grown children dedicated this special day to returning to Summerville to continue cleaning out my old house… a terrible job … but with new lookers interested… it had to be done… best Valentines Day gift ever!

I had just gone to the bar room for wine and a wonderful 50’s and 60’s singer… ( lots of Elvis) when Mandy appeared at the bar and I went back to my room to give each family their Valentines bag!

Then the whole family took me back to the bar on their way out!

Eva Cate and Pip
Tommy and Mandy… pizza for supper! What an amazing day!
Gin-g sent this picture of her roses
Patty sent this picture of her Valentines Kale- so prettily pink!
Mandy told me my old unforgettable house …sent my hidden but beloved orange handbags …filled with more heart surcies that I had forgotten I even owned …but missed so much! 🙌
Every night… if I listen to the evening news I want to cry… lately , however…it has turned to plain old anger… Please people we know how to behave… this ridiculous behavior against We The People and horrifyingly We the little people
Must Stop! Mean Behavior!
A Children’s church group left these original , adorable cards-one for each resident… yesterday… children growing up in this new scary world filled ” Shooter Safety Drills.”

May God protect You from Evil!

LOVE IS ALWAYS THE SOLUTION!

I hope everyone had a loveable HEARTS DAY! 💗❤️♥️

About Becky Dingle

I was born a Tarheel but ended up a Sandlapper. My grandparents were cotton farmers in Laurens, South Carolina and it was in my grandmother’s house that my love of storytelling began beside an old Franklin stove. When I graduated from Laurens High School, I attended Erskine College (Due West of what?) and would later get my Masters Degree in Education/Social Studies from Charleston Southern. I am presently an adjunct professor/clinical supervisor at CSU and have also taught at the College of Charleston. For 28 years I taught Social Studies through storytelling. My philosophy matched Rudyard Kipling’s quote: “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” Today I still spread this message through workshops and presentations throughout the state. The secret of success in teaching social studies is always in the story. I want to keep learning and being surprised by life…it is the greatest teacher. Like Kermit said, “When you’re green you grow, when you’re ripe you rot.”

I agree the news makes anyone angry, sad, etc. Especially when it strikes too close to home. Yesterday, a shooting at the mall where the sister I recently met for the first time, works with her husband. Thank God, no one was hurt…but my heart leaped out of my chest at the news!
Wait…you have a bar…and wine at your senior living facility?? You go girl!! I guess yours is more like a retirement community?
