The Day After…

The day after Christmas and Mollie reserved seats for all the grandkids to see Willie Wonka along with Mandy and BooBoo. I LOVED it!!!!

It could not have been a better day to go to the movies… rainy, windy outside… while inside … we were all totally engrossed in the talents and magic of Willie Wonka. ( that actor is amazing ! ) He follows a legend of famous actors who came before him in this role but I think Timothee Chalamet might have just put a whole new wonderful spin on the character.

( The ” Wonkas’ before him)

When not watching the movie with family at the Citadel Mall or eating supper with Tommy and Kaitlyn at Waffle House… I loved the interval hours… just watching more old Christmas movies… can’t get enough!

Kaitlyn overheard me wishing I had a necklace to wear … and this special necklace … includes colored green stones straight off the coast of Ireland in Dingle… so thoughtful and meaningful! Each picked up personally by Kaitlyn .
Mollie gave me the electric throw that I am presently wearing everyday without fail.

And the nice staff here is making time for fun too!

Mandy gave me a new device to answer questions … ” Hello Google”… Tommy and Kaitlyn gave me a couple of lessons… this might take awhile… but before that we ate supper together at Waffle House… fun catching up….

The small intervals of time yesterday gave me just enough quiet time to thank God for my family… my life…the loves of my heart!

The best thing I ever did was learn how to turn my doubts, fears, and problems over to God and watch God bring joy back into my life.

Take time to enjoy your respite intervals of time yourselves this week and then let your troubles go.

About Becky Dingle

I was born a Tarheel but ended up a Sandlapper. My grandparents were cotton farmers in Laurens, South Carolina and it was in my grandmother’s house that my love of storytelling began beside an old Franklin stove. When I graduated from Laurens High School, I attended Erskine College (Due West of what?) and would later get my Masters Degree in Education/Social Studies from Charleston Southern. I am presently an adjunct professor/clinical supervisor at CSU and have also taught at the College of Charleston. For 28 years I taught Social Studies through storytelling. My philosophy matched Rudyard Kipling’s quote: “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” Today I still spread this message through workshops and presentations throughout the state. The secret of success in teaching social studies is always in the story. I want to keep learning and being surprised by life…it is the greatest teacher. Like Kermit said, “When you’re green you grow, when you’re ripe you rot.”
