Another Day Filled With Unexpected Amazing Expectations…

Look how Amazing Vickie has kept Big Red… still growing and BLOOMING! Tommy and I decided with the storm tomorrow and all the cold snap days ahead … keep Big Red right where he is at home-the front porch with plants and greenery … the Magic of ” Big Red’s ( geranium) almost 16 years’ longevity includes the position of the porch, bench, protection, sun’s rays… apprehensive if we move him … the different location might not provide what that porch has all these many years…so we will wait… until the house sells.

But… I was so happy to hug it again and wish ” Big Red” Merry Christmas and get to go home if only for a brief time collecting a few things I needed to pick up.

Then onto having ” Merry” with brother Ben-at his new rehabilitation home now.

I was so happy to see Ben and share a little Christmas gift-giving with him and lots and lots of hugs!!!!!!
Eloise is in many skits and productions part of this week since Berkeley County doesn’t’ get out until Wednesday ( Charleston finished up this past Friday)
” Today is my favorite day.”
Sweet Tommy carted me all over Summerville to pick up more Christmas cards and Christmas items and then we picked up lunch heading back. A wonderful day with my son!

When I got back there was a package waiting for me … from Jo-a book…Positively Pooh ( I put Pooh in the recliner to start reading his book!) Bless you Jo!!! A very Merry Christmas to my mentor and friend!

Especially happy sorta day!

About Becky Dingle

I was born a Tarheel but ended up a Sandlapper. My grandparents were cotton farmers in Laurens, South Carolina and it was in my grandmother’s house that my love of storytelling began beside an old Franklin stove. When I graduated from Laurens High School, I attended Erskine College (Due West of what?) and would later get my Masters Degree in Education/Social Studies from Charleston Southern. I am presently an adjunct professor/clinical supervisor at CSU and have also taught at the College of Charleston. For 28 years I taught Social Studies through storytelling. My philosophy matched Rudyard Kipling’s quote: “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” Today I still spread this message through workshops and presentations throughout the state. The secret of success in teaching social studies is always in the story. I want to keep learning and being surprised by life…it is the greatest teacher. Like Kermit said, “When you’re green you grow, when you’re ripe you rot.”
