Dear Reader:
Transition Periods are sometimes the toughest times in life, aren’t they? We get caught between nostalgia of the past, problems of the present, and uncertain futures. Once we get over the fear of getting lost during this tough time we can open ourselves up to the possibility that transitional periods can be bridges helping us over turbulent waters into a whole new world of connective experiences .
I knew I have been thrown off kilter by being out of my normal daily routine too long. ..so I made myself go water the flowers and plants as before… letting them know how much I had missed them and then gathering some to treat myself to a ” Boo’s Garden” mason jar filled with flowers just for me to brighten my day. -( title picture)
I remembered that I should never forget that God isn’t hiding or some secretive God from this quote.
” If God had wanted to be a big secret, He would not have created babbling brooks and whispering pines. ” Robert Brault
Late yesterday afternoon I went out on the porch… it appeared that a late afternoon thunderstorm was gathering-thunder booming, lighting streaking, wind howling and pine cones hitting the roof as if to remind me God is still near.
I came back inside to look at tomorrow’s do list and crossed off anything unnecessary that fit more in the worry category than accomplish category… remembering this advice from mother and grandmother.
“You can tell the size of your God by looking at the size of your worry list. The longer your list, the smaller your God. ”
A big shout-out to Susan and Doodle for dropping off the most delicious dishes… Ben is eating again… what a relief! And thank everyone for your cards, calls, texts, emails and prayers! You fill me everyday with your kindness!
” Today is my favorite day” Winnie the Pooh
And don’t forget to say ” Rabbit” and have a loving month during the Dog Days of August!
While watering my plants-look at this surprise God gave me -the most beautiful mushrooms hidden in the ivy!
The only bloomers who actually seem to like this dangerously high hot summer we are recently experiencing are the morning glories!
Bekah… Thank you for all your help … helping me, helping your dad and helping attack all the long list of red tape obstacles! I love you my niece!
