As I was sunning yesterday after my two in-house visits from my two assigned therapists ( Steve and later Anne) whom I both adore. I went outside to sun… pleased at my results) I want my strength back more than anything and they are showing me the differences… they are pleased and I am tired but feeling the strength slowly returning also!!) 🤞🤞
But it was the squirrels carrying an acorn running along the picket fence by the pond ….laughing in glee that first caught my attention! ( one misstep and they are in the water but they take a rest too! )
Mary of Bethany was very Pooh-like too as she knelt at Jesus feet to simply listen and learn! That is where I want to be one.day/still learning-after all I love telling stories from Jesus!
Winnie the Pooh learned the power of turning an ordinary day into a spectacular day through listening to God’s creatures!
One beautiful day Pooh was asked why he not busy?
Pooh replied because it was an extra nice day?
Pooh added ” Why ruin it?”
” But you could something important on an amazing day
Pooh looked puzzled… ” I AM! Listening, of course!”
” listening to what?”
” Birds and squirrels “!
” What are they saying?”
” That it is a spectacular day!”
” You knew that already?”
” Yes, but it is nice to hear it again from somebody else who thinks so too! ”
So until tomorrow… this little song bird brightened my day with his song…
A moon bloom Anne shared with me! My favorite!!!!!!!!
I was born a Tarheel but ended up a Sandlapper. My grandparents
were cotton farmers in Laurens, South Carolina and it was in my
grandmother’s house that my love of storytelling began beside an old
Franklin stove. When I graduated from Laurens High School, I attended
Erskine College (Due West of what?) and would later get my Masters
Degree in Education/Social Studies from Charleston Southern. I am
presently an adjunct professor/clinical supervisor at CSU and have also
taught at the College of Charleston.
For 28 years I taught Social Studies through storytelling. My philosophy
matched Rudyard Kipling’s quote: “If history were taught in the form of
stories, it would never be forgotten.” Today I still spread this message
through workshops and presentations throughout the state. The secret
of success in teaching social studies is always in the story.
I want to keep learning and being surprised by life…it is the greatest
teacher. Like Kermit said, “When you’re green you grow, when you’re
ripe you rot.”
Becky,
I’m still following you daily, just haven’t had time to respond properly (lots of company my way the last few weeks). Know that you’re in not only MY daily prayers but also in the prayers of my Daughters of the King (DOK) from my church. (It’s a lay order for women and we are “prayer warriors” for the church.) We pray regularly for a lot of people, not necessarily known to the congregation, but some – like you – who are friends, relatives, and acquaintances of members of the DOK “sisters.” So, you ARE being prayed to get that strength back and for improving health.
Much love and lots of prayers!
Sis
