Dear Reader:
I don’t think I am alone in a certain feeling I have felt in intervals throughout my life. Have you ever wished you could duplicate yourself so you could be at more than one place at the same time?
Sometimes it is just a wistful dilemma between two great invitations for an event on the same date and time… but my serious pleas for duplication happened more frequently as a single parent trying to get three children to three different places around town each afternoon after school .
Once the children started playing sports … the dilemma grew larger… whose turn was it for me to watch their game or after school club activity? Those were not the days of ” wine and roses” but frustration and tears. How many times I wished I could duplicate myself over and over again. ( Special thanks remembered for Poppy and Dee Dee for filling in many times for one of the grandchildren’s events. Love y’all foreverđź’—)
Occasionally I run into a similar problem with the grandchildren’s activities but definitely not as frequently. Getting Ben to medical appointments is what keeps me hopping today… the population around Charleston has outgrown its interstates snd back roads. Too frequently I end up calling and canceling appointments from my car stuck in a parking lot on the Don Holt Bridge.
On days like this I picture myself being able to snap my fingers and just be sitting with Ben in whatever doctor’s office-with five specialists ( not counting dentists or eye doctors) they are spread out all over the Lowcountry area.
So in these present times…my most favorite days are being here at home all day … doing whatever I want or… simply don’t… doing! Nada! Literally my heart sings with joy if there is no cumbersome ” appointment ” anywhere in the day ! The taste of freedom is personal and different for everyone… but as for me… ” Give me liberty… or ” Give me MORE Liberty.” 🤗
And nothing makes me happier than strolling and seeing beauty through new perspectives… come walk with me and I will show you!
Remember my newly acquired ” Burgundy Necklace” fern I got at Flowertown Nursery? As I walked over to water it… the first early morning rays hit it… and it came alive with the sights of lime-colored streaks flowing through it coupled with varying shades of pink… breathtaking!
I decided to keep the ” hope alive” even though Breast Cancer Month ( October) has passed… because, unfortunately, breast cancer, itself has not disappeared.
Nothing makes me happier inside than fresh Boo Garden flowers on the kitchen table… my dreams manifested.
My new autumn succulent ( Swicegood) pumpkin is acclimating quite well on the other front window table! *And my year old ” Ghost ( succulent) pumpkin is still proudly proclaiming his ownership status.
The Confederate Rose is also called ” The Cotton” Rose… when you see this huge gorgeous bloom you immediately know why!
…And I love my Amber Coral Bells!
… And being greeted each morning with a brilliantly beautiful morning glory never ceases to make me smile.
So now do you see why a day at home doing ” nothing” makes me so terribly happy?
So until tomorrow…
Today is my favorite day/Winnie the Pooh
Becky …this is so true…it seems life keeps getting more and more hectic just when you thought it would slow down. I remember Fred always invited the Dingles to the golf banquets because they were so very supportive of Tommy…they always added so much to the occasion.
Poppy loved being invited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
