Dear Reader:
Isn’t it strange when we go somewhere with a certain intent and then are drawn to something completely different… for a reason we only discover later?
I decided to go to the Edisto Bookstore to check on when the next book in the Edisto Murder Mystery series ( Hope Clark) was coming out this month.
The bookstore is so adorable… little turtle designs have been added to the floor for children to follow to find the children’s section and of course this precious cat came out to ( what is a bookstore without one) welcome me to its home-children have drawn pictures of the cat on the walls.
I found myself drawn to the cards and ended up only purchasing the title photo one today…NOTHING IS WORTH MORE THAN THIS DAY.
Shortly before three o’ clock this afternoon I had a call from Ben’s nurse practitioner… she had checked him and all looked good-vital stats… but fifteen minutes later Ben came to her holding his left arm in pain.
She was letting me know they were sending him to the hospital to be evaluated… I called Lee, Ben’s son who left to check on him and what was going on… some miscommunication about where he was taken initially…but it was MUSC.
Jan has been calling and letting me know she is praying the brain CAT scan will find just a TIA… and they can rehab him there. So we are in the dreaded waiting zone… as I type.
So until tomorrow… prayers are welcome-in fact greatly appreciated…🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💗
And now I know why I was drawn to one particular card… ” Nothing is Worth More Than This Day.” God is reminding me just how precious life is… every minute of everyday!
Today is my favorite day-Winnie the Pooh
*** Lee just called-looks it was a TIA-he will stay two more days and then be released back to Wellmore -Whew! Some cognitive set-backs but overall so grateful!!!👍💗
Miss Becky if I may call you by this name. I was raised to call everyone Mr. Or Mrs. and their surname. That’s why I can not just say Becky, feels like disrespect! First and foremost, I said a prayer immediately for Mr. Ben only to have instant answer! I am so happy nothing had broken. That’s what I call it when some part of me abused as a kid, by my own self, goes wrong. I know it must have been some tense moments while waiting to hear back about Mr. Ben’s condition! My oldest Sister went through very similar issues. After several TIAs it was found she had a heart valve problem. The faulty valve somehow caused lack of blood to her brain.
I could smell the little book store. Some way books have a smell thats unmistakable to me. And the cat, looks identical to a cat we had that passed away peacefully in her sleep at 23 years old. Emily was our cats name, she and the bookstore kitty could be twins. Do you enjoy C. Clarke Hope’s books? We have them all as well. Her maiden and non Author name was Cindy Hope Beales, we graduated from High School together. Well I won’t keep you from your fun and you all seem to have lots of fun at the beach. I think it’s fantastic that you and your YAs are still friends after all these years. You lose old friends over time but to hang on as close as you all have is a blessing a thing to be proud of. Just checking in after hearing of Mr. Bens problems. Hope all will be well now for the rest of your beach time. Have fun! I don’t think I needed to say that, because you I know you all have fun every time! Now for my modern text language ttyl!
Great hearing from you Johnny and life is good when we get good news on loved ones!
So very thankful that all turned out well for Ben…will keep him and you in my prayers.
So grateful….so much can happen in so little time but thankful to God.
So thankful Ben is doing better. I’ll keep him in my prayers.Take a deep breath and enjoy your time with the Yas ! All will be well.Love you lots❤️
It was comforting to be with friends who all know Ben and talk with them about my feelings! Thank you God! I wasn’t alone!!!
