Dear Reader:
While cleaning out a crate of “stuff” (junk) yesterday….a long slender piece of wood got stuck in the holes of the crate. I tugged and pulled and finally the “stick” came flying out with something long and orange behind it.
It was the original stake/nylon orange tape Anne used to outline the possibility/ dream of a garden path in my backyard. An historical marker to place right at the front of my gate for everyone to see before they start the garden walk tomorow.
To me this was a good omen….another God Wink appearing just at the right time at the right place. Thank you God!
From a dirt path in September of 2013, outlined with orange tape my garden has grown. And so many of you have contributed plants, flowers, advice, help, and just plain (“roll up your sleeve”) work in the garden. For this I thank you….The Magic Moon Garden is “OUR” garden.
“Mistress Becky…Oh so happy
How does your garden grow?
With lots of flowers end to end
And lots of help from friend to friend!”
I really will be in the garden tomorrow morning and tomorrow evening….so just park anywhere along the street, especially in front of the empty lot/fence and my front yard. Walk down the second driveway (by the fence) to the backyard/garden and we can put pocketbooks, etc. either on the deck or I will run them inside and put them up.
We will have light refreshments-located on the B&B side of the house….plus there are chairs and benches in and around the garden, table/chairs on the deck….lots of places where you can take your refreshments outside if you prefer.
Coming from the town of Summerville….stay on 17-A (S. Main Street) Go straight through 5 Points, come around the curve and about a half/mile later… look for the Cooper Tire Bldg on the right….coming up (immediately) on the left is the Miler Country Club Sign (rather obliterated these days with political signs) Turn left on to Country Club Blvd and I am located on the second street to the right…100 Rainbow Road. (located on the right side of the road)
So whether you stop by in the morning (9-11) when the “dew is still on the roses” or tomorrow evening (7-9) “when the twilight tells the garden good-night” dress comfortably, wear a floppy hat if you have one around, (optional) and welcome, welcome, welcome!
So until tomorrow…I hope everyone is having a restful, fun weekend and will start off the week right with a stroll through the garden.

*Went to Anne’s house for all the amazing artwork display and it was fabulous! Will have to say that our Dorchester Presbyterian Church family really came through in support of our congregational member and artist…Anne Peterson! The desserts were wonderful! And the artworks were out of this world! What a talented quartet of artists.
Good times (at the showing) with some of the Presbyterian “Frozen Chosen” Gals!
Here is the painting I chose of Anne’s to buy….titled: “Possibilities” (It reminds me of the sun shining through the garden early in the mornings… setting it aflame with light and love.)
* I got a surprise call yesterday morning letting me know Ed and Roz Van Alstyne were in town….I met them and the Cuzzels at Five Loaves. What fun we had….I love a surprise get-together. Have fun gang at Isle of Palms this week !
Hi Becky,
I’m late in viewing/reading today – Sunday. I typically don’t get on the computer until late in the afternoon on Sundays b/c after church I just “veg” out with the newspaper and then the crossword puzzle.
But I wanted to tell you that when I first saw that stick with the orange tape wrapped around it I thought it was a single orange rose!! Either it looks amazingly like that or I need new eyes!!! LOL!
Anyway, sorry I’m not in town to partake of the garden stroll, but i’m sure you’ll have many friends coming by and I know all of y’all will enjoy every minute of it. It’s hard to believe it was only 3 short years ago that your garden was first outlined! I remember when Anne did that!! It is an amazing garden and I just love the whimsy of it all!!
Much love,
Sis
Thank you Sis….and now that I look at it…it does look like an orange rose…God Wink! Will miss you…one day when you are in town please just drop in!
