” Oh my GOURD- I love Fall! “

” I really really do!”

Dear Reader:

Friday’s night activities were yummy and delightful! Jake’s party was fun …just seeing everyone again!

The scent of fall is appearing-that cool crisp smell that replaces ( in the Lowcountry) hot humid, sticky summers. It is so refreshing.

Suddenly I have more energy than I have had in awhile-to the point that I started pulling out and decorating my house with pumpkins and fall wreaths!

It’s ” BOO ” Time Again!!!

I have decided that life is a lot like waiting on Fall. Sometimes we get caught in the humdrum monotony of day to day living-especially when going through unexpected crises that throw us off our routines and then suddenly the worst is over and the skies are bluer, the trees are more beautiful, colors abound, the air is cooler and we feel ” alive” again… and grateful and happy to be so…

So until tomorrow… Let me take a precious moment and thank all of you for the birthday cards, gifts, calls, texts, and emails… you have certainly made this ole’ gal feel very loved!

Loved the Clemson birthday text card! 😍

About Becky Dingle

I was born a Tarheel but ended up a Sandlapper. My grandparents were cotton farmers in Laurens, South Carolina and it was in my grandmother’s house that my love of storytelling began beside an old Franklin stove. When I graduated from Laurens High School, I attended Erskine College (Due West of what?) and would later get my Masters Degree in Education/Social Studies from Charleston Southern. I am presently an adjunct professor/clinical supervisor at CSU and have also taught at the College of Charleston. For 28 years I taught Social Studies through storytelling. My philosophy matched Rudyard Kipling’s quote: “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” Today I still spread this message through workshops and presentations throughout the state. The secret of success in teaching social studies is always in the story. I want to keep learning and being surprised by life…it is the greatest teacher. Like Kermit said, “When you’re green you grow, when you’re ripe you rot.”
