An”Engaging” Evening for All!

Dear Reader:

Can someone start the first note to the “Hallelujah Chorus” because I have been singing and humming it all night long?

Hallelujah Chorus – Mormon Tabernacle Choir – YouTube

It is September 1 and I started the blog with two rabbits for extra double good luck this month….the good mojo will be flowing. Actually the last day of August started this impetus of positivity. Tommy, along with Rudy, and the boys, Atticus, and Pip….proposed to Kaitlyn last evening!

TOMMY AND KAITLYN ARE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Susan and I are beyond happy….both families needed something this happy, this special right now, right this very moment….and we got it. God is good!

Last night the families celebrated with good food, drink, laughter, and love. It was a night for the memories.. It is best told in pictures….because some events in life are better without words…just feelings. (As you can imagine there are lots more photos and group pictures….here are just a few samplings… must spread out the wealth!)

Thank you John and Mandy for opening up your home for a very special family celebration….we all love you for your generosity!

This benchmark celebration came just at the right time…my surgery is tomorrow –  Friday morning at 8:00….It will definitely go down as “The Week That Was.”

*Before the photo of Tommy and Rudy….let me stop and say that Rudy has been the real hero….he was diagnosed with incurable cancer last September and given three months to live….it was Rudy who had the ring tied around his neck and presented it to Kaitlyn….he is my canine inspiration….Still ticking, still licking!

Wedding plans are still up in the air but one thing is for certain….Tommy and Kaitlyn have the dance moves down like their nephews and nieces.

So until tomorrow….Thank you God for reminding us why we fight so hard to stay here for as long as we can to watch our loved ones grow in Your Love.

  • Don’t forget to say “Rabbit” for good luck all month. You can bet that I will be screaming it first thing this morning! FullSizeRender

About Becky Dingle

I was born a Tarheel but ended up a Sandlapper. My grandparents were cotton farmers in Laurens, South Carolina and it was in my grandmother’s house that my love of storytelling began beside an old Franklin stove. When I graduated from Laurens High School, I attended Erskine College (Due West of what?) and would later get my Masters Degree in Education/Social Studies from Charleston Southern. I am presently an adjunct professor/clinical supervisor at CSU and have also taught at the College of Charleston. For 28 years I taught Social Studies through storytelling. My philosophy matched Rudyard Kipling’s quote: “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” Today I still spread this message through workshops and presentations throughout the state. The secret of success in teaching social studies is always in the story. I want to keep learning and being surprised by life…it is the greatest teacher. Like Kermit said, “When you’re green you grow, when you’re ripe you rot.”
